Membership and Eligibility
Membership is voluntary and open to all Igbo women residing in Washington State. It consists of women who by birth came from the following Igbo Speaking States in Nigeria (Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Delta, Abia, Ebonyi, Rivers).
Two forms of memberships exist in Adaigbo
- Full membership: Those who meet membership requirements as specified in the Adaigbo Association constitutional rules.
- Honorary membership: This category of membership consists of people who strongly have the interest of the organization at heart, does not have any voting rights and can attend Adaigbo Progressive Association meetings. They are people of Caliber that can support the association monetarily, spiritually, educationally and otherwise
Members Enrollment
The individual seeking enrollment should:
- Register in person
- Completely fill out and submit a membership enrollment form, this will thereafter be reviewed by the membership enrollment committee
- Successfully complete a two-month probationary period
- Be an Igbo woman from Igbo speaking areas in Nigeria
- Display positive character and behavior as observed by current members
- Be recommended by one or more active members of the association
- Be a known individual in the Igbo community held in high esteem morally and ethically
- Maintain a good attendance record.
- Pay membership registration fees to the association.
